As a company that truly understands and respects water, we at Takuwa consider the social issue of
rebuilding the altruistic relationship with water, which was destroyed during human prosperity, as our
corporate mission.
We believe that our sincere dedication to technologies for a better understanding
of water helps restore the water circulation system, which is the source of all life, back to what it
should be, while at the same time making up for the damage caused by humans to our home planet of Earth.
By addressing not only environmental but also social issues, such as poverty and education, we aim to be
a company that provides a path toward a truly sustainable future.
Ismail Serageldin, Vice President of the World Bank in 1995, said, “If the wars of this century were fought over oil, the wars of the next century will be fought over water.”
Today, the conflict over shrinking water resources has intensified around the world. It is undeniable that a world where people fight each other to get as much water as possible, like the dystopia depicted in the movie “Mad Max,” may become a reality. We must take action as soon as possible because there is not much time left.
With a corporate philosophy of creating a world of coexistence with water, we at Takuwa will overcome this crisis and work hard to achieve a new social model by leveraging our unique technologies and expertise.
We take pride in having studied water for more than 60 years since our founding and having improved ourselves always on the front line of the industry as a company that holds a leading market share of water level gauges in Japan.
As a company that truly understands and respects water, we consider the social issue of rebuilding the altruistic relationship with water, which was destroyed during human prosperity, as our corporate mission.
We believe that our sincere dedication to technologies for a better understanding of water helps restore the water circulation system, which is the source of all life, back to what it should be, while at the same time making up for the damage caused by humans to our home planet of Earth.
Humans at some point started taking self-centered control by exploitation, which has even expanded to resources other than water. Especially, their persistent desire for self-centered control over energy resources has intensified the conflict over rights, causing geopolitical instability, an extremely large disparity between the rich and the poor, and serious environmental destruction in the world as a whole.
We need to face the fact that the survival of humanity will be at stake if we do not take action immediately against these social issues in parallel with the water crisis.
By considering these present challenges as a step for self-improvement, we at Takuwa will attempt to realize a society of coexistence with energy once again based on the spirit of altruism.
This is because a new technology will replace the water level gauge in the not-so-distant future. It won’t happen soon, but we are sure that the day will come. That could be in 10 years, or as early as five years.
In preparation for the day, we have conducted thorough risk assessments and are now ready to face challenges.
We have already begun to develop an innovative “value-creation” sensor that is superior to the current renewable energy system.
Taking a historic step forward as a new challenge for our company, we have steered in a new direction toward altruism-driven management. We place this altruistic mindset in the heart of our business, and keep attention and engagement in water and the global environment. This drives us to address not only environmental but also social issues, such as poverty and education, and to grow as a company that can provide a path toward a truly sustainable future.
